N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated India’s and state’s first 1M1B Green Skills Academy’s Career Readiness Centre at Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
In a landmark collaboration, the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA) partnered with the United Nations-accredited 1M1B Foundation (One Million for One Billion) to set up 1M1B Green Skills Academy’s Career Readiness Centre in Kuppam. This initiative is aligned with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for a technologically advanced and sustainable Andhra Pradesh. The first center will equip youth and young professionals with essential green skills and career-readiness training, paving the way for sustainable employment within Andhra Pradesh’s and India’s expanding green economy.
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the green economy could create 24 million new jobs by 2030 with 8.4 million in developing countries. Furthermore, the renewable energy sector alone is expected to create over 38 million jobs by 2030, highlighting significant employment opportunities (World Economic Forum).

The 1M1B Green Skills Academy is developed for college students and adult learners aged over 18. It is designed to equip the future workforce with the skillset, mindset and toolsets needed in a rapidly evolving green economy. The Green Skills Academy offers a unique blend of theoretical knowledge, projects, workplace experiences, internships and job readiness mentoring creating a dynamic learning environment.
The centre will serve as a transformative platform, empowering youth and young professionals (18 years and above) with the knowledge, skills, and experiences required to excel in green job roles and entrepreneurial ventures. Through this partnership, 1M1B aims to provide hands-on training in the fields such as e-waste management, renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainable agriculture. The program will also offer digital skills training, like AI and other professional development skills like communication, leadership, and critical thinking, preparing students for job placements and internships.
The inauguration event witnessed the esteemed presence of Hon’ble CM of Andhra Pradesh Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Vikas Marmat, I.A.S., Project Director, Kuppam Area Development Authority, Manav Subodh, Founder & Chief Mentor, 1M1B, Srikanth Kancharla, MLC, Kuppam and representatives from 1M1B.
Manav Subodh- Founder of 1M1B- said that, “We are grateful to the Govt of Andhra Pradesh that has given us an opportunity to set up the state’s 1st The 1M1B Green Skills Academy’s Career Readiness Centre in Kuppam. This initiative represents a significant step forward in realizing Andhra Pradesh’s vision of sustainable growth, providing the young people of the state with the skills and support they need to thrive in the green economy. 1M1B’s vision is to make Kuppam a global hub for green skills and a model for nurturing climate talent.”
Srikanth Kancharla, MLC, Kuppam with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for a technologically advanced and sustainable Andhra Pradesh, where he stated, “ We are proud to launch the 1M1B Green Skills Academy Career Readiness Center in Kuppam as a pilot initiative. This center will empower our youth with future-ready skills and inspire them to lead the way in sustainability and innovation.”
Sri Vikas Marmat, IAS, Project Director of KADA, emphasized the importance of equipping the youth with skills that align with Andhra Pradesh’s vision for sustainable growth and quotes, “The 1M1B Green Skills Academy Career Readiness Center reflects Kuppam’s vision of creating sustainable employment opportunities for our youth. This initiative equips them with the skills needed to build a brighter future while driving the region’s progress.”
This centre will open doors for youth and young adults in Andhra Pradesh and especially around Kuppam, promoting inclusion by actively encouraging participation from rural, tribal, and social welfare communities. It aims to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment, empowering young individuals from all backgrounds to gain relevant skills and contribute to a sustainable future for their communities.
The MoU was earlier signed in the esteemed presence of Sri Srikanth Kancharla, MLC, Kuppam, Vikas Marmat, IAS, Project Director of Kada and PS Muniratnam Vice Chairman of APSRTC and representatives from 1M1B Foundation.
