Accenture today announced the acquisition of Boslan, a Spanish consulting and engineering firm specializing in energy transition. The acquisition aims to help clients optimize their investments in zero-carbon infrastructure. Founded in 2000 in Bilbao, Spain, Boslan provides management services for major infrastructure projects, including wind farms, solar power plants, smart grids, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and hydrogen power plants.
The company also supports the construction of data centers and critical infrastructure. Boslan employs more than 1,000 professionals in Spain, Brazil, Portugal, the United States, the United Kingdom and Mexico, providing services such as feasibility studies, project planning, cost and quality control, contract negotiations, design reviews, equipment purchase support and field research and supervision. Accenture’s clients include renewable energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, data centers and utilities. Accenture said the acquisition will strengthen its ability to help clients deliver large, long-term infrastructure projects more efficiently, amid growing spending on the clean energy transition. This is Accenture’s first investment acquisition in Europe, following its recent acquisitions of Anser Advisory in the United States and Comtech Group in Canada.
The acquisition will enable Accenture to apply AI and digital technologies to asset lifecycle management, optimize project investments and accelerate its path to carbon neutrality. Boslan’s team will join Accenture’s Industry X, the company’s manufacturing and digital division, to drive net-zero infrastructure projects.
