Achilles Acquires GRMS to Boost Supply Chain Sustainability

Achilles, the UK-based supplier risk and performance management solutions leader, today said it has acquired Global Risk Management Solutions, or GRMS, a supplier risk assessment company based in Irvine, Calif. The purchase will help beef up Achilles’ supply chain sustainability business while growing its U.S. and Canadian presence.

GRMS, established in 2010, has become a leading supplier of customizable supplier risk assessment programs. The company’s services are designed to help businesses proactively manage and monitor supplier risks, including financial stability, compliance, health and safety, and more. By verifying data, conducting physical document reviews, and offering a robust support system, GRMS helps suppliers meet clients’ unique risk assessment requirements, fostering greater transparency and reliability across supply chains.

Commenting on the deal, GRMS Co-founder and President Gerard Smith said, “GRMS has delivered supply chain risk services to big U.S. clients for fourteen years. Joining Achilles is an outstanding opportunity to significantly expand the scale of our cutting-edge supplier risk solutions. In combination, we will raise the bar for supply chain risk management but continue to bring the high service quality our customers have grown to expect.

The acquisition marks yet another milestone in Achilles’ strategy to broaden its global presence and expand its portfolio of supply chain risk and performance solutions. In this transaction, the company is following its recent purchase of GoSupply, another company offering supply chain risk management solutions, underlining the firm’s commitment to addressing complex and evolving global supply chain needs.

Achilles CEO Paul Stanley said, “GRMS has built an outstanding reputation for delivering excellence in supplier risk assessment. The acquisition complements our ability to provide unparalleled value to our customers in combining our global reach with GRMS’ deep understanding of the US market for supplier risk management.”

The Acquisition of GRMS is Expected to Bring Enhanced Capabilities to Clients Worldwide. These encompass higher-order insights and tools that allow suppliers to build more robust relations, reduce all kinds of risk, and construct resilient supply chains. Top focus areas in this regard are going to involve ESG, health and safety compliance, cyber, geopolitical risk, and de-carbonizing. With their partnership with GRMS, Achilles strives to create standards for the world’s supply chains in sustainability and risk management.

We are delighted to back Achilles to make its second strategic acquisition driving further growth in this exciting sector,” Matt Legg, a partner at Bridgepoint and the majority shareholder of Achilles, said. “Building on Achilles’ strong organic growth, the addition of GRMS enhances its capabilities and solidifies its position as a leader in delivering comprehensive solutions to meet the sector’s evolving demands.

The acquisition reflects a growing recognition of the need for robust supplier risk management as global supply chains face increasing scrutiny and complexity. Companies are now prioritizing transparency, sustainability, and resilience in their supply chains to navigate risks associated with geopolitical instability, regulatory changes, and climate change. By combining Achilles’ global footprint with GRMS’ expertise in supplier risk management, the two organizations are well-positioned to address these challenges and deliver transformative solutions to clients across industries.

For GRMS, this partnership is an opportunity to use Achilles’ resources and international presence to scale its operations and extend its innovative risk assessment services to a wider audience. Meanwhile, Achilles’ clients will benefit from a more comprehensive suite of solutions designed to address the multifaceted challenges of modern supply chain management.

This latest acquisition reiterates Achilles’ commitment to driving innovation and excellence in the supply chain sector. The company is well positioned to redefine supply chain risk management standards and help businesses achieve greater sustainability, resilience, and operational efficiency by combining the strengths of two industry leaders.
