Ambuja Foundation, Voltas Join Hand To Uplift Rural Health & Education In Gujarat

In Waghodia (Vadodara) and Sanand (Ahmedabad), the Ambuja Foundation and Voltas initiated a health and education development programme that includes 26 schools. Additionally, a community health programme that covers 22 villages will be implemented in the vicinity of the Voltas manufacturing facilities in Waghodia and Sanand.

Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation, said, “Through this new project in Gujarat, we aim to focus on key areas such as school infrastructure and rural health. We are confident that this collaboration will further strengthen our efforts to uplift rural communities. Together, we look forward to fostering inclusive growth at the grassroots level.”

Installing RO systems for safe drinking water, encouraging reading habits through library establishment and reading programmes, and providing schools with SMART Boards to improve learning experiences are all part of the execution plan, according to the company's statement. In order to promote student involvement and general development, school-based athletic activities and infrastructural assistance, such as STEM Labs, will also be planned. To ensure a thorough and inclusive approach to educational upliftment, holistic development activities catered to the needs of each school will also be carried out.

The project's primary goal is to enhance the general health of women and children in the region by working closely with the health department and equipping frontline staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to spearhead long-term, community-driven health programmes. Finding service gaps and empowering ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) to provide efficient preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare are important tactics. Additionally, the initiative encourages formalising collaborations with government agencies, schools, health facilities, and Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) through non-financial Memorandums of Understanding. The Ambuja Foundation encourages development committees, PRIs, and village institutions to actively carry out health and sanitation initiatives, make government health programmes more accessible, and take part in national campaigns like WASH, Poshan Abhiyan, and Swachh Bharat.

Voltas Management said, “At Voltas, we believe in creating lasting impact to the community not just through our products, but through our partnerships and community initiatives. By investing in education and health, we aim to build a healthier, more educated future for the regions that support our operations. We look forward to the partnership with Ambuja Foundation in bringing rural transformation,”.
