Amcor and Lorenz Snacks Team Up for Sustainable Packaging
Amcor, a global leader in packaging, has partnered with Lorenz Snacks, an international snack producer, to introduce a new sustainable packaging solution for one of their innovative products: Lentil Coated Peanuts. But the cooperation does bring into sharp focus the various attempts by the food industry to minimize the harm that packaging does to the environment. The new packaging has utilized Amcor's AmPrima technology, designed to be fully recyclable and made of just one material. Against traditional packaging, AmPrima touts such large advantages as reducing carbon footprint by 51%, water consumption, and the use of non-renewable energy. It is in line with the CEFLEX design, establishing resource efficiency and a circular economy where materials can be effectively reused and recycled. Lorenz Snacks is well known for its commitment to sustainable development and set ambitious goals of reaching 100% recyclability of its packaging by the end of 2025. Hence, this partnership with Amcor will indeed be one of the giant strides towards attaining the set objectives. Traditional snack packaging combines several materials, making it hard to recycle. AmPrima clears this particular hurdle because it delivers all that barrier protection and durability without an inch being given in terms of product quality or shelf life. It also was able to meet consumer expectations for striking yet functional packaging that delivers on sustainability.
