APEDA Launches Regional Offices in Patna, Raipur, Dehradun to Boost Agri Exports
APEDA opens regional export offices in Patna, Raipur, and Dehradun to help agri exporters access global markets, raise incomes, and boost rural prosperity.
India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has opened three new regional offices in Patna, Raipur, and Dehradun. This initiative aims to empower agri exporters in the eastern, central, and northern regions—helping small farmers, FPOs, and processors access global markets, certification, and technical support.
Key Objectives of the Expansion:
-
Regional Market Linkage: The new offices will provide localised export, certification, and compliance help, especially for producers of rice, fruit, vegetables, pulses, and special crops.
-
On-ground Training: APEDA will conduct regular exporter workshops, food safety seminars, and market access briefings in these locations, focusing on practical problems and live queries from rural exporters and processors.
-
New Export Clusters: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and Uttarakhand now become priority states for developing GI products, organic foods, and value-added agri shipments—an alternative to India’s coastal/export heavyweights.
The move is aligned with the government’s goal to raise agri exports to USD 43 billion by year-end and diversify both the export basket and the socio-economic reach of high-value agriculture. State officials see it as a “timely bridge” connecting local production to global opportunity, especially for tribal, rainfed, and smallholder farmers.
