The Commission for Air Quality Management relaxed the Stage 4 curbs of the Graded Response Action Plan in Delhi-NCR because there were a few drops in pollution levels. The air quality index comes out of the "severe" category with better atmospheric conditions.
GRAP and Its Role in Curbing Pollution
GRAP is the name under which a group of emergency measures are put in place to regulate air pollution in the National Capital Region. The four phases consist of a combination of action. The level 4 curbs would be the most intense. They will come into play if the gravity of pollution needs to be controlled. It prohibits all kinds of construction works, which are not critical in nature, heavy vehicles, and industrial activity.
