In a move for sustainable tourism, Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has launched its ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative in the picturesque hill station of Ooty in the state of Tamil Nadu. Brought in by the company in collaboration with the Nilgiris District Administration and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, the idea is to recycle plastic. The effort that this program is trying to make is about giving importance to environmentally related issues by proper disposal and recycling of plastic waste, tying up with this very important event of World Tourism Day.
The program embraced placing plastic collection banks at strategic points on Ooty’s Doddabetta Peak. At vantage points, recycled plastic benches were put up to turn plastic into a useful commodity. The campaign was extended further into a cleaner and greener action by clean-up drives across some of the most popular tourist destinations, including Doddabetta, Pine Forest, and Sanitalla Backwater. It strives to enhance the cleanliness of environments and create an awareness of the need to preserve natural spaces for future generations.
It is part of the bigger plan Bisleri has formulated under its sustainability initiative to unveil the ‘Bottles for Change’. This summer, the company has unveiled the ‘Bench of Dreams’ initiative, which has been designed to install 1,000 benches across India made from recycled plastic. It’s a part of the ‘Greener Promise’ campaign by Bisleri under Sustainability 2.0. Through such initiatives, Bisleri has truly shown a strong commitment to the reduction of plastic waste and practicing eco-friendliness.
Apart from the operations in plastic recycling, Bisleri International is the leader in the premium beverage business. Bisleri has been operational for more than 54 years and has established itself as a leading bottled water manufacturer with strict quality control processes. The company operates 128 plants and distributes the most comprehensive network of distributors across India and neighboring countries.
It is doing so through initiatives like ‘Bottles for Change.’ In this way, Bisleri is influencing the future with sustainability from all possible business aspects. From local communities to institutions, it’s working together with them to make sustainability efforts that not only protect natural beauty but also raise long-term awareness in the public.
Conclusion:
It was indeed a pioneering step by Bisleri with ‘Bottles for Change’ in Ooty. Noting the fact that plastic recycling, along with drives for clean-up operations, forms the base of such picturesque hill stations, the company emphasizes that safeguarding this planet is indispensable today. Bisleri has been contributing quite regularly to the agenda of sustainability through its ‘Greener Promise’ initiatives and more.
