BVG India, UPETDB Develop Eco-tourism Project At Dudhwa National Park

BVG India and the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board (UPETDB) on Tuesday said they have developed and are maintaining a new eco-tourism destination at Dudhwa National Park in Chandan Chowki, Lakhimpur Kheri district.

As part of this initiative, BVG India is also developing the ‘BVG India Resort’, scheduled to be fully operational by March 2026. Spread across five acres, the eco-friendly resort anchors the Chandan Chowki eco-tourism project and is envisioned as a nature-led retreat centred on wellness and local culture.

As per the statement, ‘BVG India Resort’ blends into its forest surroundings while offering modern hospitality amenities. The resort provides various housing choices, which are complemented by their leisure amenities and dining services, and their venues, which serve both business meetings and social events to all types of guests, including vacationers and nature lovers, families and business groups. 

BVG India operates the partnership by handling all aspects of the accommodation and wellness centre development, which includes planning, design development and financing operations of BVG India Resort. This includes operation and maintenance of accommodation, facilities and allied services, procuring all necessary approvals and permissions to ensure compliance and marketing and promotional activity planning. The focus of the project is to promote a fresh experience to tourists at a location that would offer a wholesome package comprising of wellness and wildlife.

The community will participate in the development process. The site provides a special area which allows Tharu tribal artisans to demonstrate their traditional crafts while women artisans gain economic advantages from tourist activities. The organic horticulture areas at the resort provide guests with a complete understanding of sustainable agricultural methods and authentic rural life experiences.

Dudhwa National Park exists in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh which borders the Indo-Nepal border and has earned international status for its biodiversity. The park protects one of India's rarest ecosystems which includes Bengal tigers one-horned rhinoceroses and endangered swamp deer together with a diverse array of bird species. The park exists as a Project Tiger protected area which establishes the site as an important location for wildlife protection efforts and eco-friendly tourism activities.
