The seventh edition of Echoes of the Earth, India’s well-known eco-friendly music festival, is scheduled to happen on December 7 and 8 at the Embassy International Riding School in Bengaluru. Famous as the “greenest music festival of India,” this event combines sustainability with music and art while creating a community that acts for living earth.
Since its inception, Echoes of the Earth has moved beyond being just an experimental music platform. Initiatives such as The Greener Side have been used to organize pre-festival activities throughout the year, including nature walks, workshops, and conservation events on the principles of “reduce, reuse, recycle.” These pre-festival engagements have included tree and mushroom walks, rainwater harvesting workshops, and nature journaling sessions. The festival also extends its outreach with unique experiences like bio-luminescent walks in Goa, dragonfly walks in Delhi, and mangrove walks in Thane.
This year’s festival will bring together electronic, meditative, and traditional music to create something new. A set by Giridhar Udupa of the Ghatam Udupa Collective blends Carnatic percussion with global influences, while an electronic performance evokes nature using samples gathered from a social media campaign.
Echoes of the Earth stays innovative by killing wasteful practices and sustaining environmental awareness, thus showing a high prospect for creativity and art to produce meaningful conversations about living life sustainably.
