On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, EnAble India Group and Helicon Consulting have announced a groundbreaking strategic alliance to empower disability inclusion in the corporate & civic ecosystem in India.
EnAble India is India’s leading disability organization that is globally acclaimed & is focused on generating livelihood for People with Disabilities (PWD’s). Helicon Consulting is a leading management consulting firm of India working on policy aligned corporate, business & functional advisory for Indian & global transnationals, public sector enterprises & MSME’s. Both EnAble India & Helicon are celebrating the 25th year of their respective incorporation.
As India takes strides towards becoming the top three economies of the world, corporations, civic bodies & policymakers will have to strive towards an inclusive & accessible workplace for PWD’s. But this joint initiative is not just limited to empowering individuals with disabilities or corporate inclusivity but goes beyond, into exploring possibilities of disability inclusion, driving strategic business transformation of enterprises & civic organizations.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Dipesh Sutariya, Chairman of EnAble India Group said, “We are excited about this association with Helicon Consulting, who with their expertise will be able to bridge the gap between business’, civic bodies & the untapped talent from the disability community & allied expertise of our foundation for maximum impact”
Under PM Narendra Modi, disability inclusion has become a specific focus, as evidenced by the launch of the Accessible India Campaign. Policymakers in India also mandate several guidelines for disability inclusion under a variety of acts such as RPwD Act (2016), Companies Act (2013), Equal Remuneration Act (1961) etc.
Vikram Kumar Limsay, Founder & Managing Partner, Helicon Consulting added, “Corporates have a positive intent regarding disability inclusion, but lack of awareness of policy and the process to integrate disability into operating workflow to make a strategic impact impedes implementation. We have deep regard for EnAble India & together, we hope to bridge this disability divide.”
Both EnAble India & Helicon are confident of ushering in a “Purple Wave” in the Indian Economy with this collaboration.
