Envision and ISDRR Launch Project Jeevan Setu in Gujarat to Improve Child Health and Nutrition

On September 11, 2025, the Institute for Sustainable Development, Research and Reforms (ISDRR) in collaboration with Envision Energy India and the District Administration of Amreli announced Project Jeevan Setu – A Bridge to Better Health and Wellbeing on the Taluka Panchayat premises located in Babra,Amreli, Gujarat, India. the goal of the removal is to strengthen early childhood care, improve community nutrition, ameliorate sanitation and hygiene, and support women's health within the Babra block and surrounding areas. The project ties to 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 a national campaign designed to break the cycles of malnutrition and promote the holistic health of children.

With the support of Project Jeevan Setu, 50 Anganwadi centres in Gujarat will be adopted to provide better services in early childhood care and education (ECCE). While the programme works through many departments of the government including integrated child development services (ICDS), health, education and Panchayati Raj, the key activities sought are through school health and hygiene campaigns to create healthy habits in children, nutrition, and iron–folic acid to address anaemia. Women’s health camps will include screening for hypertension and diabetes, breast and cervical cancer with many commissioners conducting local food based exhibitions to promote balanced diets. Community will be involved in sanitation and cleanliness. The Anganwadis being adopted are part of Envision Energy India’s broader strategy in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which are education and skills development, health, nutrition and sanitation, environment and heritage preservation. Envision Energy India recognised expanding the project by adopting a total of 99 Anganwadi centres for Project Jeevan Setu in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The launch event consisted of a Nutrition Gallery Walk featuring locally made healthy foods, a recognition of women leaders in nutrition, and government representatives providing remarks about the importance of collective action in communities to improve health outcomes. Envision Energy India was committed to working with each of these sectors because of its commitment to sustainable development through health, education, nutrition, and sanitation interventions as it moves toward decarbonisation and assisting India in achieving net zero targets.

In summary, Project Jeevan Setu is the beginning of a community-wide multi-sector approach to improve public health in terms of child nutrition and women's well-being in rural Gujarat. While utilizing existing government schemes and working with existing establishments such as Anganwadi centres, the project aims to create sustainable improvements to health, hygiene, and education. After having adopted nearly 100 centres and demonstrated some joint action among multiple agencies, we hope that it will serve as a model for health-and-nutrition interventions in other districts and states.
