Hydrogen is still not as accessible as electric charging infrastructure, but the company believes that it represents an exciting long-term future for heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles where battery-powered solutions may not be as practical.

Collaboration with Partners for Sustainability

Ford can only achieve its sustainability goals if it functions with other partners outside of the organization. The corporation is integrating itself with all the different stakeholders including the governmental and industrial groups together with NGOs in driving direction towards more sustainable transportation.
Another of the initiatives Ford is conducting in developing a relationship with the customer is offering incentives to purchase electric vehicles. Challenges and Future Outlook

As inclusive as it is ambitious, electrification by Ford is the least with challenges that the organization meets on its way forward for the set objectives. Firstly, issues regarding the global electric vehicles supply chain, focusing significantly on the battery sources come in. With increased consumption and demand for electric vehicles across the globe, so will be the requirement for raw materials such as Lithium, Cobalt, or nickel for making their needed batteries. For this, Ford is to its suppliers for getting material in a safe and sustainable way, but for the adequate supply chain, it becomes tough.
The other key challenge is the large-scale infrastructure of EV charging. Ford invests in charging networks, but once electric vehicles have been adopted, it will depend largely on how readily charging stations are available and easily accessible. The company is working with local and national governments to enhance charging infrastructure, but that is still going to be the determinant factor in the bigger scheme of transitioning to electric mobility.
