Fuel Up on Gas! World’s First CNG Scooter by TVS

TVS Motor Company is set to launch the world’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) scooter in the next one year, as it follows the leader, Bajaj Auto, in unveiling the Freedom 125 CNG bike. The flagship project is the first move for the Indian two-wheeler market towards alternative fuel technologies.

The in-the-works CNG scooter from TVS, codenamed U740, will come with a 125 cc engine. The scooters are expected to go into production by September or October this year and the launch planned in the last quarter of 2024 or early 2025. The company plans to roll out about 1,000 units every month with this new green and clean mobility option targeted at reducing the anthropogenic carbon emission load.
