In FY 2023-24, GTL Infrastructure had taken massive leaps toward minimizing its ecological impact. The company also announced that it had significantly reduced diesel consumption by 3.25 lakh liters through the electrification of 52 additional sites. The exercise would, in turn, reduce the consumption of fossil fuels with more grid electricity being made available and the deployment of more advanced battery banks. Its total consumption of energy for the year stood at 16,44,940 GJ, with a related reduction in GHG emissions. GTL Infrastructure’s commitment toward waste management is also very clear, having ensured the recycling of more than 1,346 metric tons of waste batteries during the year.
On the social front, GTL Infrastructure has concentrated on employee welfare. It has been reported that 100% of permanent employees are covered under health and accident insurance schemes. The policies related to health, safety, and skill development have been extended to the company’s workforce of 589 employees and 915 workers. Further, GTL Infrastructure has concentrated on gender diversity, wherein women represent 25% of the Board of Directors.
The GTL Infrastructure governance is based on transparency and accountability. The company, in this regard, follows NGRBC while ensuring the enunciated policies are on all basic principles of ethical governance, human rights, and environmentally sound operations.
