Heat Pump Startup Nido Secures €5M To Boost Clean Heating
Nido raises €5M to advance its heat pump platform, streamlining clean heating installations in Europe.

A seed financing in the amount of €5 million enabled the Spain-based technical platform focused on heat pump solutions Nido to sustain further development of the platform, which cuts the corner of heat pump installation while fast-tracking clean heating and cooling systems for the residential space. The financing round attracted big investors including Iberdrola under its start-up pro-gram Perseo, Ship2B Ventures, Decelera Ventures, Zubi Capital, Silence VC, and over 15 angel investors.
Heat pumps are being promoted as a sustainable alternative to traditional heating systems like furnaces and air conditioning. Importantly, installation of heat pumps reduces carbon emissions and fossil fuel-use levels, supporting Europe Councils in carbon neutrality efforts. The Nido platform aims to simplify the entire installation process to enhance homeowner and builder adoption of this new technology.
Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Madrid, Nido has rapidly established itself as a principal actor in the sober energy solutions landscape. Quoting, design, and installation support services are offered through the company platform for heat pump systems. Each project receives a 3D BIM (Building Information Modeling) model that enables construction and HVAC professionals to design accurately and afford detailed quotes efficiently. BIM technology allows professionals to visualize installations and manage the projects with an improved level of accuracy, thus reducing error rates and installation turnaround time.
Once a sale is confirmed, Nido acts as a consultant and project manager, providing an entire installation kit consisting of the BIM model, a list of materials required, and step-by-step instructions for each particular job. This helps in streamlining the process and ensuring good-quality installations, thereby easing the transition to heat pump technology for residential clients.
"This funding is a key milestone for the company," stated German Peralta, CEO and co-founder of Nido. "This investment is a major step toward our goal of democratizing access to heat pumps in Europe," he added, reaffirming the company’s intention to develop a clean energy agenda through user-friendly and efficient solutions for residential heating and cooling.
The new capital will fund key activities, including those to incorporate AI into Nido’s platform so that it can best optimize project designs, provide intelligent recommendations of materials, and facilitate communication between suppliers, installers, and customers. Also, Nido aims to reinforce its engineering team to put more weight on expanding operations and refining the marketplace platform linking installers, suppliers, and customers for seamless project execution.
Iberdrola is one of the main investors in renewable energy worldwide. Regarding Nido, Iberdrola reiterated its commitment to support developing innovative technologies to achieve Europe's decarbonization objectives. "Aerothermal energy must play a critical role in enabling highly efficient electrification of heat generation. Iberdrola's plan is to install more solutions facilitating demand decarbonization," noted Iberdrola.
Having Iberdrola's backing echoes more than Nido's interest in innovative solutions to promote sustainable energy use. The group has been actively promoting investment in technologies aimed at both decarbonization and conversion to renewable energy. Nido's platform speaks to these objectives through the promotion of heat pump technology that harnesses renewable sources for working with heating and cooling.
The successful funding round and innovative approach from Nido come at a time when Europe is confronted with growing pressure to cut carbon emissions and move on to cleaner energy sources. With the residential sector being a large contributor to energy use and emissions, solutions like Nido's platform are vital in the attainment of environmental targets.
With this next phase of growth, Nido would maintain its focus on making heat pump installation more accessible and cost-efficient. Supported by advanced technology and strategic partnerships, Nido seems poised to accelerate the roll-out of clean heating solutions across Europe for a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
