Honda and Marriott Partner to Boost Youth Hospitality Jobs

Honda India Foundation (HIF), a CSR entity of all Honda group companies in India, signed an MOU with Marriott Group of Hotels to provide support to enable employment for the untrained unskilled youth from the region. This partnership under the aegis of Project Buniyaad attempts to provide suitable jobs for 1,000 youths from North-Eastern regions and Union territory Jammu and Kashmir.

MOU Signing Ceremony: The MOU signifies association between the two organizations that will aid in advancement of Hospitality sector. The event was witnessed by corporate representatives who were part of this historical event, including, Sanjay Gupta, Chairman – Marriott India Business Council; ARUN KUMAR, Market Vice President for North, Nepal & Bhutan – Marriott; Shveta Sahal, Director, Government Affairs & CSR – Marriott; Gurleen Bhalla, Area Director North – HR – Marriott;PRERNA DAGA, Director Marketing Communications -Marriott;Vinay Dhingra, Trustee – Honda India Foundation and Satyaprakash Patil, Operating Officer-Honda India Foundation.

“The Honda India Foundation envisions creating wider positive impact on society and through affiliation with the Marriott Group of Hotels, we are trying to use our combined capabilities to help uplift the underprivileged from certain sections,” said Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, Honda India Foundation. Project Buniyaad is looking at four stakeholders; Honda India Foundation (Funding Partner), State Government (For infrastructure and mobilization support), Visan Foundation (Training Partner) and placement partners as leading hotels and Marriott too. This MOU will help these trained individuals in getting jobs at Marriott properties across the country.
