The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has launched Project H2OPE in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. As part of this initiative, HMIF installed water RO systems in 100 government schools, benefiting over 35,000 students.
The inauguration of these water systems was conducted by Girish Mahajan, Minister of Rural Development & Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Maharashtra, at a special event. The project aims to improve health and hygiene among students, creating a better learning environment.
Puneet Anand, Vertical Head of Corporate Communication and Social at HMIL, stated, “Aligned with Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, the Hyundai Motor India Foundation took up the initiative to provide access to clean drinking water for school-going children across 100 government schools in the Gadchiroli region of Maharashtra through Project H2OPE. This initiative aims to not only boost the well-being of students by ensuring one of their basic needs is met but also envisages creating a supportive and nurturing environment where they can academically succeed and prosper.”
