IDEMIA has launched an extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement as part of its SmartGreen Project in association with a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Electric golf carts powered by lithium-ion technology will safely transform the internal transportation methods for women. Philippe Oliva, CEO, Secure Transactions, IDEMIA symbolically handed over the fleet of electric carts to Bipin Menon, Development Commissioner, SEZ.
“These electric golf carts, which are capable of carrying 16 people each, demonstrate IDEMIA’s commitment to providing safe, convenient travel for women workers within the SEZ. Our company’s enhanced focus on sustainability provides a template for other corporate entities. This programme is indicative of IDEMIA’s commitment to environmental sustainability and promoting women in the workplace.” This programme is indicative of IDEMIA’s commitment to environmental sustainability and promoting women in the workplace.
Bipin Menon complimented IDEMIA for their innovative idea, calling it a first of its kind for SEZ infrastructure. Infrastructure in SEZs will establish new innovation benchmarks in terms of convenience and sustainability, he added. “By giving two tokens of appreciation to those who are making an effort, it might motivate others to work harder and better”.
Philippe Oliva underscored IDEMIA’s comprehensive CSR policy, touting the two-fold advantages of lowering a firm’s environmental impact via EV adoption while concurrently improving quality of life and personal safety for its female workers. According to Mr. Philippe Oliva, EVP Strategy at IDEMIA, this is consistent with the company’s broader goal of inspiring improved corporate social responsibility and contributing value to communities it participates in.
