India Surpasses Japan to Become World's 4th Largest Economy

India has officially overtaken Japan to become the world's fourth-largest economy, with its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reaching $4.187 trillion, marginally surpassing Japan's $4.186 trillion. This significant milestone was announced by B V R Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, citing data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The achievement underscores India's robust economic growth trajectory, driven by strong domestic consumption, strategic policy reforms, and favorable global economic conditions. India now trails only the United States, China, and Germany in terms of economic size.

Looking ahead, India aims to ascend further in global economic rankings. According to projections, India could surpass Germany to become the third-largest economy by 2027, provided it maintains its current growth momentum.

This development has been met with national pride, with leaders and citizens alike celebrating the country's economic progress. However, experts emphasize the importance of sustaining this growth through continued policy support, infrastructure development, and addressing challenges such as income inequality and unemployment.
