North Sky Capital announced that it has raised $250M for its impact fund, Clean Growth VI (CG VI). The fund invests, among other things, in energy transition, climate technology, circular economy and healthy lifestyles. Founded in 2000, North Sky Capital focuses on creating positive social and environmental impacts while generating financial returns through secondary (private equity) and sustainable infrastructure (direct) strategies.
The firm has invested more than $1.4 billion in more than 140 impact investments through its various funds. Northern Sky launched its first Impact Secondaries fund in 2013, seeking benefits and measurable impact in clean technology, climate technology, waste and water, sustainable food and agriculture, and healthy lifestyles.
CG VI is an Article 8 fund of the EU Sustainable Economy Disclosure Regulation that promotes environmental or social attributes. Its investors include US, Canadian, Brazilian, Singaporean and European pension plans, foundations, wealth management platforms and family offices. Almost 60% of CG VI funds have already been deployed and the first distribution to investors is planned for the end of this month..
