Pacific Mall Dehradun has released its latest initiative for the environment, “Plant Your Bill 3.0,” to enhance the green beauty of the city. The campaign, starting from 29 June to 11 August 2024, is expected to break previous records of tree planting by planting upwards of 10,000 trees by gathering momentum from the previous two years of 8,000 trees planted.
Empower the patron base of the mall to make a difference in the ecological health of Dehradun. For each purchase invoice above Rs 3000, during the campaign period, a Lychee tree sapling shall be handed over to customers. This shall stand as a symbol of Dehradun’s greenery and can be nurtured at home or within local communities, creating ownership and responsibility towards tending and growth.
Abhishek Bansal, Executive Director, of Pacific Group, said, “With initiatives such as Plant Your Bill 3.0, we underline our concern for the environment and our initiative towards encouraging eco-friendly consumer behavior. Pacific Mall, Dehradun, calls upon all its participation in safeguarding our city’s natural heritage and building a greener tomorrow.”.
However, it does not merely remain a tree-plantation campaign; it incorporates various participative activities for people of all age groups. For children, clay modeling workshops, hanging gardens, and pottery sessions, among others, are the aptest platforms for buds to bloom into responsible citizens. Notably, the local schools come up with skits enacted by the children, teaching everyone ways of preserving and conserving the motherly essence of nature for one and all. The experts from the environmental section do reveal tips on how to tend to Dehradun’s pride—the Lychee orchards.
“Plant Your Bill 3.0” also aims not only at replenishing green spaces but also to build awareness about community-driven sustainable practices. It will enthuse active participation from patrons and local stakeholders for the revival and rejuvenation of the overall green spaces and natural landscapes characterizing the city, for a greener and healthier Dehradun.
In other words, the “Plant Your Bill 3.0” crusade by the Pacific Mall Dehradun turned out to be a force in environmental activism, bringing together the community and leveling with the commitment towards the conservation and enhancement of the city’s ecological diversity. Through such initiatives alone can malls be at the helm in viewing and sensitizing for environmental awareness and sustainable urban living.
