The Prime Minister spoke at the “Future Summit” at the UN in New York on the topic “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow”. The conference brought together many world leaders, all focused on finding global solutions to sustainable development and future challenges. In his speech, the Prime Minister outlined India’s vision to create a sustainable world for future generations. Addressing more than one-sixth of the people, he emphasized India’s commitment to world peace, development and prosperity. The focus of his speech was to call people’s attention to work together for a bright future. He praised India’s great success in expanding sustainable development programs and said that in the past decades, the country has lifted 250 million people out of poverty. He said that this achievement is a proof of India’s commitment to growth and development.
The Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the countries of the Global South and emphasized India’s desire to share its development experience with other countries. He emphasized that India’s development journey can be a model for many developing countries. He also emphasized the importance of balanced laws in the technology sector, especially to promote the safe and responsible use of digital services. He saw India’s openness to sharing its public digital infrastructure for the greater good of the people, helping digital inclusion and progress. The Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to the principle of “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” which serves as a guiding philosophy for India’s global engagements. He also called for urgent reforms in the institutions of global governance, particularly the UN Security Council, emphasizing that reform is essential to maintaining the relevance of these institutions in the modern world. He argued that global ambition must be matched with global action, urging world leaders to work collectively towards a more equitable, just, and peaceful global order. The summit concluded with the adoption of a key outcome document, “A Pact for the Future,” which included two annexes: the Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. These documents outlined the shared commitment of participating nations to addressing global challenges, including the responsible use of technology and securing a sustainable future for the next generations. The conference emphasized the need for multilateral cooperation to overcome the challenges of the modern world.
