Ramboll has announced that it has acquired K2 Management, a global consulting firm for wind and solar energy. The purpose of this move is to strengthen Rambol’s ability to serve customers worldwide in all aspects of wind power projects by integrating its experience in the design and operation of wind projects and K2 Management’s expertise in strategic communications and project development. The acquisition expands Ramboll’s gas division to more than 900 professionals in 20 countries, including new offices in Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan and Portugal.
This growth is in line with Ramboll’s goal of increasing the workforce in the gas industry to over 1,000 professionals by 2025 in response to growing global demand. Rambøll’s global gas director, Tim Fisher, emphasized the company’s ability to promote the gas sector and meet the needs of global customers. The division has grown 25% annually over the past three years, growing from a basic designer to a full service air consultant. Lars K. Hammershoj, the founder of K2 Management, expressed confidence in the opportunities that the acquisition will provide, and sees the ability to offer more innovative and sustainable solutions , and provide more successful career opportunities for employees. The global wind power market is growing rapidly, with a record 117 GW of new wind power installed worldwide by 2023. The World Wind Energy Council (GWEC) estimates that three annual wind installations to 320 GW by the end of the 2018 decade to reach the COP28- goal of tripling renewable energy and achieving zero emissions by 2050. This transaction is pending regulatory approval.
