The Government of the Philippines and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) have announced that registrations are now open for the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR).
The conference will be held from October 14-18, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines. The APMCDRR is the main platform in Asia and the Pacific to advance, monitor, review, and enhance cooperation for implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The event will bring together governments, intergovernmental, international, national, and civil society organizations, the private sector, academia, and other stakeholders to develop strategies and initiatives for disaster risk reduction. Under the theme “Surge to 2030: Enhancing Ambition in Asia-Pacific to Accelerate Disaster Risk Reduction,” the conference will review risk reduction efforts, share innovative solutions, and adjust policies to accelerate risk reduction in the face of climate change and other uncertainties. The conference is expected to host more than 3,000 international and local delegates, facilitate effective exchange of ideas, promote disaster risk management and increase strength in the Asia-Pacific region.
Interested participants can register for the event at the APMCDRR registration page on the UNDRR website.
