Si Nonna’s supports the employment of displaced Manipuri youth through structured hospitality sector placements
Si Nonna’s is working with Primero Skills & Training Pvt. Ltd. to provide employment opportunities for internally displaced youth from Manipur in the hospitality sector. The effort is part of rehabilitation work overseen by the Supreme Court Committee on Relief and Rehabilitation in Manipur.
The development was announced in New Delhi on 24 April 2026. The committee, constituted by the Supreme Court of India and chaired by former Chief Justice Gita Mittal, is engaged in livelihood restoration following internal conflict in the state. The work is supported by the Government of Manipur and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Primero Skills & Training Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed to conduct training for displaced youth across sectors, including hospitality and aviation. The organisation runs residential training in Manipur and Delhi focused on job-specific skills.
Under this arrangement, Si Nonna’s is placing trained candidates in roles across its outlets. Candidates complete certification courses of one to two months before undergoing assessment. Selected candidates are employed as servers, shift supervisors, and junior kitchen staff in Delhi and Ahmedabad.
On 13 April 2026, members of the Supreme Court Committee and representatives from Primero Skills visited Si Nonna’s outlet in Connaught Place, New Delhi. The delegation included Justice Gita Mittal (Retd.), Registrar Ravinder Dutt Sharma, Director Ajeet Jha, and Jayanta Das, Founder and Managing Director of Primero Skills & Training Pvt. Ltd. The visit included interaction with employees placed through the training process.
The work focuses on linking training with employment for internally displaced persons from Manipur. Candidates are trained, assessed, and placed in defined roles within participating organisations.
The process involves coordination between government bodies, the committee, training providers, and private sector employers. Training delivery and candidate preparation are managed by Primero Skills.
Si Nonna’s is responsible for recruitment and role-based placement across its outlets. Hiring decisions are based on operational requirements and candidate assessments.
Primero Skills continues to conduct training in coordination with government agencies. The training includes certification and preparation for sector-specific roles.
Employment access remains limited for displaced communities in post-conflict regions due to skill gaps and the availability of jobs. The current model links training with placement through participating employers.
Future placements are expected to depend on training capacity, employer participation, and available roles in the hospitality sector.
