Sungrow, a global leader in solar PV and energy storage systems, has released its first PowerTitan units supplied 2.0 Battery Storage Systems (BESS) in Europe. A total of 66 units have been delivered to the UK, marking a major milestone in Penso Power’s and BW ESS’s 100MW/330MWh Bramley project. The delivery comes less than a year after the project agreement between Penso Power, BW ESS and Sungrow. The PowerTitan 2.0 is a water heating system that integrates a 2.5 megawatt power conversion system (PCS) and a 5 MWh battery in a 20 foot container. The system is designed to increase efficiency and safety while reducing capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX). Sangro’s manufacturing capabilities allow them to meet major project needs and strengthen their position as a reliable supplier of renewable energy.
The company emphasizes quality and safety, with strict testing and quality control procedures. James Lee, Sungrow ESS director for Europe, confirmed the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable grids and energy independence, saying that the PowerTitan 2.0 units will help to transition the UK to a stronger country. Recently, BW ESS and Penso Power signed a seven-year contract with Shell Energy Europe Limited for the Bramley project. Sungrow’s global energy storage system deployment exceeded 10.5 GWh by 2023, with the PowerTitan series leading this innovation.
