A new survey conducted in six swing states and nationally shows bipartisan majorities support maintaining key environmental policies, despite debates about rolling back regulations to reduce air pollution, greenhouse gases, and expand offshore drilling. The survey, conducted by the University of Maryland’s Program for Public Consultation (PPC), reveals that tax credits for electric vehicles and charging stations, current limits on offshore drilling, tax credits for clean energy and energy efficiency, and mandates to gradually raise fuel efficiency in cars and light trucks all enjoy broad support.
The PPC survey is part of the Swing Six Issue Surveys series, focusing on major policies leading up to the November election. Respondents were provided with balanced information to ensure informed responses..
