Thai Businesses Prioritise Sustainable Workplaces to Attract Young Talent
Increasingly, growing worldwide attention to the sustainability agenda compels businesses to spend more on an environmentally responsible workplace. The latest study of property firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) finds that 65% of global organizations will increase spending on eco-friendly workplaces by 2030, and Thailand is not far behind.
According to the survey of “Future of Work 2024, offices will require both the sustainability and workers’ well-being if they are going to emerge among the future leading office preferences for companies.
With around 2,300 business leaders surveyed, it certainly represents a strong bias toward use through technology, flexibility, and environmentalism towards designing their future workplace.
To the millennials and generation Z, sustainability is on the priority list of the preference.
According to the report, sustainability is one of the attraction factors for the younger workforce. In Thailand, 71% of Millennials and Gen Z professionals believe that their workplaces should be environmentally responsible and sustainable. The future is being designed by these younger generations to ensure that sustainable office spaces are no longer a choice but a necessity for businesses seeking to attract and retain the best talent.
Transition to ‘Destination Workplaces’ in Thailand
The companies of Thailand embrace what the study terms as “destination workplaces” created with the integral sustainable technology and green features. Destination workplaces address the greater call for more responsible environments within the workplace, indicating a more profound transformation in the approaches applied at workplace level in Thailand.
Today, attention is focused on increasing linkage of business objectives and expectations of employees toward green, sustainable office space in the modern offices in Thailand.
