Tata Power-DDL Names Dwijadas Basak As New Chief Executive Officer

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), on Tuesday, said that it has appointed Dwijadas Basak as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective 9 June 2025.

Prior to joining Tata Power-DDL, Basak was the Chief Executive Officer of TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) & Chief – Odisha Distribution Business. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL), where he played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence.
He brings over three decades' experience in power distribution management. A seasoned electrical engineer, he has held various leadership positions within the Tata Power Group. Before moving to Odisha, he was Chief-Customer Experience, Commercial, Govt. Affairs, Communication, and Social Impact Group at Tata Power-DDL.
From 1991 to 2002, Basak worked in the power distribution sector in India and Brazil. Since 2003, Mr. Basak has been part of the Tata Power Group in various capacities and has played a pivotal role in the transformation journey of the power distribution business at Tata Power-DDL.
On his new role at Tata Power-DDL, Dwijadas Basak said, “I look forward to building on its strong foundation and leading the company into its next phase of growth with the support of our highly talented and committed team. I am confident we will continue to deliver industry-best services to approx. 2 million customers and set new performance benchmarks in the sector.”
Basak had successfully completed Advanced Management Program (SLDP) - 2022-2023 from IIM Ahmedabad and holds Alumni status of IIM-A. He pursued Advanced Leadership Course from IIM- Bangalore and Certification Program on General Management (TGELS) by Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC).
