Telangana to Launch India's First Youth Climate Action Centre
Telangana partners with 1M1B to establish India’s first Youth Climate Action and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, aiming to train 100,000 youth in green skills and create 10,000 work opportunities by 2030.
The state of Telangana is set to establish India’s first Youth Climate Action and Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, following a new cooperation between the government’s SPEED unit and theUN-accreditednon-profit 1M1B( One Million for One Billion). The action was blazoned at the 9th 1M1B spark Impact Summit at the United Nations in Geneva. The centre aims to place Telangana as India’s first youth- driven climate delivery model by 2030, supporting the state’s broader Net Zero Mission.
As part of the collaboration, the centre will concentrate on equipping youthful people with chops in sustainability and climate technology. Specific targets include training further than 100,000 youth in green chops, connecting 1,000 startups and enterprises with trained gift, and creating 10,000 virtual and gig work openings. The action is designed to integrate youth into Telangana’s climate action plans while promoting employment and invention in the green frugality.
The centre will feature four crucial factors an AI and Sustainability Experience Zone, an AI and Green Talent Accelerator, a WorkX Innovation and Impact Studio, and a Global Connect and Virtual mecca. These rudiments are intended to give training in artificial intelligence and climate- related technologies, support invention through labs and fellowships, and link actors to global networks similar as those in Geneva and Silicon Valley. According to a government representative, the action aligns with the state’s Telangana Rising 2047 frame, which prioritises employment, invention, skilling, and sustainability.
