1M1B Plans Largest Green Workforce By 2030
Youth voices must be central to climate action, calling the event proof of their readiness to shape the future, says expert
1M1B( One Million for One Billion), a United Nations – accredited association, hosted Green Chops@ 2047 at UN House, New Delhi. The event focused on India’s green chops movement and the part of youth, preceptors, and assiduity representatives in erecting a sustainable future.
Green Jobs and successful candidates from the 1M1B Green Skills Academy in Andhra Pradesh took center stage, demonstrating the opportunities created and the pathways to meaningful employment in the green economy. Their success highlights the kind of skill India urgently needs to build a future-ready green workforce.
Other highlights included
- youthful changemakers presenting AI- driven systems to support UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Interns from the 1M1B Green Internship Program demonstrating technologies such as a chatbot designed by a student from Northeast India for climate education.
- A Generation Green Campaign Showcase led by OPPO India, AICTE, and 1M1B.
- Recognition of teachers as 1M1B Sustainability Impact Mentors for guiding students toward green careers.
Darrin Farrant, Director of the United Nations Information Centre for India & Bhutan, said youth voices must be central to climate action, calling the event proof of their readiness to shape the future.
Manav Subodh, Founder & Chief Mentor of 1M1B, noted that India’s climate trajectory will depend on choices made by its youth, and emphasised 1M1B’s goal of making India a global hub for green skills.
