Adani Energy Solutions Secures ₹2,800 Crore Power Transmission Project in Gujarat

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has won a ₹2,800 crore power transmission project in Gujarat. The project will provide power for the production of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra. This is AESL's sixth order victory in the ongoing financial year, taking its overall order book to ₹57,561 crore.

The awarded project is titled "Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat." The project entails an upgrade of the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation. The upgrade will see two 765/400kV transformers being installed to boost the power transmission capacity of the region.

A key aspect of the project is the laying of a 75 km long 765kV double-circuit transmission line. The new facility will link the upgraded Navinal substation to the Bhuj substation, enhancing power supply in the area. Overall, AESL will increase its transmission lines by 150 circuit kilometers (cKM) and transformation capacity by 3,000 megavolt-amperes (MVA). This will bring the company's total transmission infrastructure to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA.

The project was entrusted to AESL through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, and PFC Consulting Ltd acted as the bid process coordinator. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the project was officially handed over to AESL on March 20, 2025.

AESL, one of the most important players in the Adani group, has business across various segments of the energy sector, such as power transmission, distribution, smart metering, and cooling solutions. It is India's largest private transmission company with a large and expanding network.

Conclusion
AESL's recent win in Gujarat reinforces the company as the leader in India's power transmission industry. The project will be instrumental in facilitating the development of Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia production in Mundra. With its growing infrastructure and rising order book, AESL is further fortifying its grip on the nation's energy sector.
