Atul Greentech and Amara Raja Forge Strategic Alliance to Enhance India's EV Ecosystem
Atul Greentech partners with Amara Raja to develop and supply LFP battery packs and chargers for electric three-wheelers, aiming to enhance India's EV infrastructure and support the 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' initiative.
In a significant move to bolster India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Atul Greentech, a subsidiary of Atul Auto, has entered into a strategic partnership with Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M). This collaboration focuses on the development and supply of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and chargers, aiming to support the nation's transition towards sustainable transportation.
The agreement involves a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), Atul Greentech Private Limited, and Amara Raja Power Systems Limited. Under this MoU, the production of battery packs for Atul Greentech's electric three-wheelers will take place at Amara Raja's Giga Corridor facility in Divitipalli, Telangana.
The partnership extends beyond battery pack production to include the development of advanced chemistry cells tailored for Atul Greentech's upcoming electric vehicle models. This initiative aligns with India's 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' vision, emphasizing self-reliance and domestic manufacturing capabilities in the EV sector.
Amara Raja's Giga Corridor is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the production of lithium-ion cells and battery packs. The collaboration with Atul Greentech is expected to leverage this facility's capabilities to enhance the performance and reliability of electric three-wheelers, catering to the growing demand for efficient and eco-friendly transportation solutions in India.
Atul Greentech's electric vehicle portfolio includes models like the 'Atul Mobili' and 'Atul Energie,' which are designed to offer intelligent telematics solutions and advanced Battery Management Systems (BMS). These vehicles aim to provide a range of around 200 km, addressing the needs of both urban and rural commuters.
Conclusion
The alliance between Atul Greentech and Amara Raja represents a strategic step towards strengthening India's EV infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility. By focusing on the development of advanced battery technologies and localized manufacturing, the partnership aims to contribute significantly to the nation's energy transition goals and the broader adoption of electric vehicles across the country.
