Delhi’s Mixed Weather Turns Toxic as Air Quality Index Crosses 200

In Delhi-NCR, the mornings and evenings have turned cold, while the days remain slightly warm. Temperatures have begun to drop gradually, and along with the rising chill, pollution levels are also increasing. The air quality in Delhi and surrounding areas has already fallen into the “poor” category. Even before Diwali has arrived, pollution levels across Delhi-NCR are steadily worsening.

Weather in Delhi

Residents are currently experiencing a mix of hot and cold conditions. The weather is chilly in the morning and evening, with mild warmth during the day. There is no forecast of rainfall, and the Meteorological Department has placed the entire city under the “green zone.” The minimum temperature is around 17°C, while the maximum temperature is about 32°C. Light mist has been observed in several parts of the city during early hours. Reports suggest that from October 19, light fog is expected to appear across the city.

As the cold intensifies, pollution in Delhi is also rising. According to the latest update at 8 a.m., the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 237, which falls in the “poor” category. In the coming days, it may deteriorate further to the “very poor” range. To prevent the situation from worsening, GRAP-I restrictions have already been enforced to control pollution levels in time.

Weather Update for NCR

The weather in Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram is cold. The mornings and evenings are cold, whereas afternoons are mildly warm. As per the IMD, temperature will drop further in coming days, which will bring cooler conditions. Along with the chill, the levels of pollution in these cities are increasing and, in some places, the air quality has crossed the "hazardous" mark, while in others it is still "moderate."

Talking about the temperature in Faridabad and Gurugram, the highest temperature was recorded 30°C and a minimum of 19°C, while Ghaziabad and Noida are likely to see a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 19°C. For now, the overall weather across the NCR region remains clear and pleasant.
