Luminous Power Technologies, on Friday, said that it has inaugurated its first lithium-ion battery assembly line at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh with a production capacity of 500 MWh and integrates advanced robotic automation with precision-led manufacturing processes to ensure high standards of quality, safety, and performance across lithium-ion battery packs.

The new unit has the capacity to produce three different types of battery systems which include lithium-ion battery packs and stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and automotive battery packs used in e-rickshaw applications. The facility provides single battery pack capacity between 1.2 kWh and 16 kWh which allows system expansion to reach 1 MWh to support multiple applications in residential and commercial and industrial and electric mobility markets. The assembly line operates complete digital traceability for all battery packs while meeting all current Battery Aadhaar standards which enable full lifecycle monitoring and enhanced regulatory compliance together with better transparency and increased trust from consumers.

The new assembly line will serve as a vital foundational element which enables renewable energy storage operations while it delivers carbon reduction benefits through electric vehicle and grid operations and it enhances manufacturing productivity by using automated systems and it provides support for circular economy initiatives through battery component recycling and reuse. The new assembly line will create job opportunities which will help develop the local economy of the area.
