Major Wind Energy Summit to Spotlight India's Growing Market

India is set to establish its inaugural wind energy conference, Windergy India, as the industry seeks to collaboratively assert its position in the country's clean energy transition. The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is hosting the seventh Windergy India conference from 30 to 31 October 2025 at the Chennai Trade Centre. The conference occurs at a crucial point in India's status as the world's fourth largest wind power market by installed capacity.

Over 3,000 international dignitaries and delegations from around the world are expected to participate, reflecting the level of interest in India's wind energy market. Windergy India therefore intends to serve as a nexus for policymaking, technology leaders, investors,  and manufacturers to facilitate and enhance collaboration and growth within the wind sector.

Windergy India 2025 will have an international exhibition and a high level conference taking place over 2 days, featuring live technology demos, structured B2B and B2G meet, and an Academia Connect forum to build new opportunities and partnerships.

There will also be a focus on closed-door Round Table sessions containing industry leaders and government to create tangible, actionable plans and strategies around policy, investment, and technology innovations.

The IWTMA nominated the event as strategic in nature. IWTMA Chief Executive Officer, Aditya Pyasi, put India's capabilities to manufacture 20 GW annually of wind turbines within a spirit of self-reliance. He said the summit will assist in instigating important discussions regarding local manufacturing, investments from abroad, policy, and next-generation technologies, all of which are critical for India to achieve its clean energy targets.

The IWTMA has played an integral role in the wind power sector for more than 25 years. It has intervened constructively with central and state policymakers as well as investors and other actors to help shift the nation to a more sustainable energy mix. Windergy India 2025 continues this mission by connecting opportunities in one of the largest and fastest growing wind power markets in the world.

The Windergy India 2025 meeting in Chennai is much more than a conference; it is a focal point for the future of renewable energy in the region. By bringing together stakeholders from the international community and domestic levels, Windergy will provide a forum for examining the challenges and opportunities with scaling wind power. The collaborations and means developed from this summit will be foundational in achieving India's clean and renewable energy targets and for realizing the full capacity and potential inherent in its wind energy resources.
