Delhiites woke up to a generally cloudy sky this morning, as the monsoon continued to hold its position across parts of northern India.

According to the IMD’s daily bulletin, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is expected across the region today, accompanied by gusty winds. The wind speed will gradually increase and reach at 30–40 km/h. No heatwave conditions are predicted. However, the level of humidity will remain stable throughout the day also the weather is expected to bring some comfort to residents from heat.

The maximum temperature is expected to stay between 33 to 35°C, whereas the minimum temperature was recorded at 29°C. All the above, the minimum temperature dropped by 1 to 3 degrees over the past 24 hours. As per the data, no rainfall has been recorded in major observatories like Safdarjung, Palam, or Lodhi Road until 8:30 this morning, Mungeshpur reported a modest rainfall.

According to the 7 days of weather forecast, Delhi is expected to witness cloudy skies accompanied with thunderstorm and rain until 2 July. The national capital has been experiencing burning heat but fortunately, no heatwave conditions are expected in Delhi this week, which is great news for residents and bringing much needed relief from heat. 

Monsoon rains have started in Haryana and Punjab. There’s a good chance of rainfall in states neighbouring Delhi, but there is no weather alert for Delhi today. According to the latest update from the weather department, Delhi may see light or very light rainfall also, there is a chance of thunder and scattered showers.

All 11 districts of Delhi which includes 11 districts like Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad, are likely to experience cloudy weather with light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms for the next 5 days. Moving ahead, for those who love enjoying sunset, it will be at 7:23 PM today, and sunrise tomorrow is expected at 5:26 AM. Early risers might also catch a glimpse of the moonrise at 7:03 AM, while the moon will set tonight at 8:37 PM.
