Muthoot Finance announces INR 1 crore scholarships for meritorious 8th and 9th grade students nationwide.

Muthoot Finance announced scholarships worth Rs one crore for academically talented 8th and 9th-grade students across 788 districts in India for the next financial year (FY26).
The announcement was made during the 15th-anniversary celebrations of the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards, which have benefited 10,000 students since its inception.
It awarded scholarships worth Rs 43 lakh to more than 1,400 students alone this year. This once again solidified the company's position as a responsible corporate entity working towards education opportunities for young minds. This scholarship initiative forms a part of the comprehensive CSR initiatives undertaken by Muthoot Finance and focuses on recognizing and nurturing academic excellence among secondary school students from economically backward sections of society.
The presiding officer at the ceremony was George Alexander Muthoot, the Managing Director of Muthoot Finance. He mentioned that education has the power to transform society and that access to quality education should be treated as a fundamental necessity rather than a privilege. He reflected on the 15-year journey of the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards and was proud of the company's continued efforts to empower bright young students and reiterated their ongoing mission to support deserving learners by removing financial barriers to education.

The Muthoot M George Foundation, which manages the scholarship program, has a history of impactful CSR projects in education, healthcare, and community transformation. Since its inception in 2010, the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards have distributed over Rs 3 crore in scholarships to 10,000 students across the country. The initiative underlines the foundation's belief in the transformative power of education to uplift lives and foster a more equitable society.
This was indeed the 15th year for the awards not only in remembrance of their past glory but also with much hope to shape a bright future where the foundation continues its task of providing wings to budding young talent and academic opportunities to leaders of the new India. Towards this aim, Muthoot Finance promised scholarship pledges amounting to INR 1 crore in FY26, promising expansion to help every student get close to excellence sans financial bounds.
