Prime Minister shares an article on how India's Mission LiFE is reviving time-honoured conservation practices
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared an article by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav on India’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), which focuses on reviving traditional conservation practices such as Tamil Nadu’s eri tank systems and Rajasthan’s johads, presenting them as acts of environmental responsibility.
“With the stage set for COP30, in the arena of global climate advocacy, India stands at the forefront, championing lifestyle adaptations and advancements in clean technology.” Bhupendra Yadav wrote
In his post on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote “In this must-read article, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav writes that India's Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) revives time-honoured conservation practices, from Tamil Nadu's eri tank systems to Rajasthan's johads, reframing them as conscious acts of planetary service. He highlights India's message that real sustainability begins not with negotiations but with nurturing.”
PM Modi appreciated Bhupendra Yadav’s article and wrote that it shows India’s progress in environmental sustainability and wildlife conservation.
Mission LiFE, started by PM Modi at the 2021 Glasgow Climate Conference, encourages people to adopt eco-friendly habits and help fight climate change. The initiative has received global support, with many world leaders praising India’s efforts to protect the environment.
