StarlinePS invests ₹160 crore in Celloraa Energy for a 1.2 GW DCR-compliant solar cell facility in Gujarat.

StarlinePS Invests ₹160 Crore in Gujarat Solar Cell Plant

StarlinePS Enterprises Ltd. has announced an investment of ₹160 crore in Celloraa Energy Pvt. Ltd. to set up a 1.2 GW manufacture unit of solar cells which are compliant with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR). With India's continued expansion in the renewable energy sector, the investment will help the Indian solar cell manufacturing industry, the Indian renewables industry, domestic solar production, clean energy transition, and the development of solar manufacturing facilities.

The envisioned plant is designed to foster India's local renewable energy manufacturing sector by enabling the country to manufacture solar cells. This initiative follows a series of initiatives aimed at boosting manufacturing capabilities, minimizing reliance on imported solar panels, and fostering the development of India's clean energy sector.

Convenience to meet India's renewable manufacturing goals

The investment will help Celloraa Energy build advanced solar cell manufacturing infrastructure, which will be capable of meeting DCR requirements. The guidelines on Domestic Content Requirements (DCR) are targeted to promote use of domestic renewable energy components, especially for government-funded projects involving solar energy.

This development comes as a part of India's overall government initiatives to promote renewable energy manufacturing, aimed at boosting the domestic production capacity in the solar value chain. Solar power has been steadily growing and the country strives to increase its share of renewable energy and enhance energy security.

The focus of StarlinePS is to emphasize on clean energy sector.

Shwet Koradiya, Director, StarlinePS Enterprises Ltd, said the investment comes as a part of the company's efforts to look into opportunities in India renewable energy manufacturing segment.

The investment is in Celloraa Energy because we are confident in India's fast-growing renewable energy manufacturing sector and also the long-term vision of Celloraa Energy.” This collaboration is a testament to our dedication to driving technological advancement, nurturing local manufacturing capabilities, and making a significant impact on India's push towards cleaner energy solutions, Koradiya added.

The investment will be a first for StarlinePS Enterprises in a manufacturing-based renewable energy programme, and is further evidence of the private sector's increasing share of the Indian solar manufacturing market.

Celloraa Energy will increase solar manufacturing capacity.

The tie-up would help Brijesh Gondaliya, Director, Celloraa Energy Pvt. Ltd, execute its India solar manufacturing ambitions, he added.

This collaboration with StarlinePS Enterprises Ltd. is a big step towards Celloraa's goal of establishing world-class solar manufacturing facilities in India. As a partner, we will do everything to speed up the country's quest for energy independence and sustainable development," Gondaliya said.

The plant will be able to help increase India's solar manufacturing footprint by providing new solar cells production capacity. The project will also contribute to the general renewable energy supply chain, such as component suppliers and related industries.

The solar manufacturing sector is getting more investment in the Indian market. There is a rise in investment in the solar manufacturing industry in India.

As part of India's renewable energy agenda, India has been working on increasing the manufacturing capacity of solar energy in the country. In recent years investments in the production of solar cells and solar modules have grown, due to policy initiatives, growing demand for clean energy, and the objective of creating a more resilient renewable energy supply chain.

The establishment of DCR compliant manufacturing plants is expected to be an important milestone towards boosting local manufacturing and helping India achieve its long-term renewable energy goals. This is expected to contribute to technological capabilities and enhance local involvement in the global clean energy market.

Partnership is centered on the growth of renewable energy over the long term.

This is the first private sector investment in Gujarat to boost solar manufacturing capacity, as part of the collaboration between StarlinePS Enterprises and Celloraa Energy. Industrial infrastructure and a wealth of renewable energy resources have made the state an important center for renewable energy and manufacturing.

The 1.2 GW plant will contribute to the country's expanding solar manufacturing base and enable the development of a robust solar manufacturing ecosystem within India. The investment underscores the ongoing role of private companies in furthering India's shift towards cleaner energy sources.
