Japanese bathroom solutions company TOTO Ltd. has been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index, a global sustainability ranking, for the 14th time. The company has also remained part of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for 17 consecutive years, reflecting its continued performance across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) parameters.

This acknowledgement takes place against the backdrop of increasing attention around the world towards sustainability in business, resource efficiency, and responsible manufacturing. The ability of corporations to tackle the problems of the environment while maintaining high governance and social responsibility standards is being closely scrutinised.

Water conservation and resource efficiency have been recognised as important aspects of sustainability by TOTO. Product development at TOTO has centred on increasing water efficiency, incorporating hygiene elements, and enhancing the longevity of products.

In India, there is an increasing amount of emphasis on sustainable usage and conservation of water as a result of which water efficient technologies are being considered in the context of decreasing resource consumption and leading sustainable lives.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index, operated by S&P Global, ranks companies according to their financial success, environmental record, and corporate social responsibility. In the current evaluation round, 317 companies out of the total number of about 3,500 were chosen, which is in the top 10 percent in each industry category.

TOTO was among 35 Japanese companies included in the index. The company’s long-term WILL2030 vision focuses on sustainable growth and integrating ESG principles into its business operations.
