TP Solar Bags Rs 455 Crore Order to Supply Solar Modules to [Customer Name/Project]

Tata Power bags ₹455 cr solar module tender from MSPGCL
The Tata Power group's arm TP Solar has emerged successful in the biggest ever ₹455 crore solar module tender bagged by it, by the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited. It was awarded as part of the overall 750 MWp solar module tender by MSPGCL through e-Reverse Auction.

The company, under the deal, has acquired 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules for Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, an initiative through which the target has been set to add solar power toward increasing the state's renewable energy capability.

Delivery Timeline and Scale
These will be spread all over the Maharashtra by 2025. Therefore, these would give a boost up to the uplifting of solar energy to an appreciable amount in the state. It focuses on giving solar energy through Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana under which sectors include agriculture wherein it provides a stabilized and economic kind of energy to these sectors.

The Excellence of Production from TP Solar
TP Solar is constructing the largest single-rooftop facility of solar cells and modules in India at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. A plant of this size marked an important milestone for India in its pursuit to be self-sufficient in solar: combined annual production capacities of both cells and modules are at 4.3 GW.

The Tirunelveli plant is conceptualized and constructed with an outlook on near-future expansion through tapping the latest technologies such as: TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact): It gives higher Energy Conversion Efficiency.
Mono PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell): The modules with higher performance at low light conditions.

Indigenisation investment
Tata Power's renewable energy arm Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, or TPREL, invested around ₹4,300 crore in the Tirunelveli plant. That is one step closer to realizing India's objective of being self-sufficient in renewable energy and indigenizing the solar manufacturing value chain.

This increases India's manufacturing capacity in solar; it is a step toward achieving government schemes like Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by reducing dependence on imports from other countries for solar components.

Greater Impact on Renewable Energy
As this order goes to show, it is Maharashtra focusing on adding up renewable energy capacity under the MSKVY program. The 750 MWp solar module tender where Tata Power has emerged victorious with 300 MWp manifests a greater direction toward tapping solar power as a source of sustainable supply to meet electricity needs.

MSPGCL adopts a competitive eRA process that would help ensure that the process of large-scale renewable energy contracts is transparent and cost-effective.
It has been a leading renewable energy player, robust manufacturing capability puts it on a very important trajectory in contributing to India's renewable energy targets.
Tata Power is an endeavour in advanced technologies and scale-up local manufacturing. This represents the ultimate goal of adding up to reach 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by the year 2030.

Conclusion
TP Solar has signed one of the largest solar module supply contracts with an initial period of five years, worth ₹455 crore with the MSPGCL. Stepping in line with the initiatives taken by the government, erstwhile Tata Power Solar's state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities have proved to be in a great position to set up the company to take on a vital role in furthering the adoption of solar energy across the country.
