Avaada Commissions 11 Solar Plants Under MSKVY 2.0, Empowering 15,000 Farmers

Maharashtra: Avaada Group has commissioned 11 new solar plants across the state under the upgraded Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, directly benefiting nearly 15,000 farmers in 167 villages. The company is developing over 1,100 MW of solar capacity statewide, with MSKVY 2.0 targeting the solarisation of nearly one-third of Maharashtra’s agricultural feeders by 2027.

The decentralised projects — each ranging from 0.5 MW to 25 MW and located close to high-load substations — supply reliable, clean power directly for irrigation. This not only boosts yields and rural incomes but also helps cut electricity bills and subsidy burdens for the state.

Multiple Benefits for Farmers and the Grid

  • Farmers can lease barren land for solar plants, securing steady rental income.

  • Access to predictable, affordable power improves crop planning and reduces reliance on diesel.

  • Local communities gain from new infrastructure investment.

  • Grid operators benefit from better efficiency and reduced transmission losses.

Climate Commitment

Avaada’s rollout under MSKVY 2.0 aligns with India’s wider green energy transition. By coupling solar expansion with upcoming green hydrogen and energy storage projects, the company is reinforcing both Maharashtra’s climate goals and India’s national clean energy roadmap.
