Delhi Set to Remain in Green Zone, No Alert Issue

Delhi is expected to experience very light to light rainfall today. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Kerala and Rajasthan.

Delhi Set to Remain in Green Zone, No Alert Issue

In various regions of India where the monsoon is showing its colour, Delhi’s monsoon has become sluggish. Various places in Delhi are experiencing very light showers. According to IMD, it is expected to experience light rain accompanied by a thunderstorm in the capital city. No massive change is seen in the temperature in the last 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also warned of heavy rainfall in some areas of Maharashtra’s Konkan region and issued an orange alert.

There is no heavy rain warning for Delhi today also for coming days, but the weather department has forecast moderate rain and a thunderstorm. Delhi will remain in green zone for coming week. This morning, the minimum temperature was 27.7°C, and maximum temperature will be around 37 degrees Celsius. As per the report, on Friday and Saturday, the weather will remain same, and no alert has been issued till now. The monsoon reached Delhi on June 29, which is nine days earlier than the usual date of July 8.

Weather in previous days
In previous days, Delhi was covered with cloudy skies in the morning, but later the sun came out during the daytime. Some places in Delhi also experienced light rain. On Wednesday, the weather was almost same, sun was playing hide and seek, and some places witnessed moderate rainfall. The maximum temperature recorded in the city last day was 36.6 degrees Celsius which was lower than 2.3 degrees in this season. While the minimum temperature stood at 27.6 degrees Celsius which was lower than 0.3 degrees. This morning, the level of humidity around 8:30 AM was 74 percent, and on Wednesday at 5:30 PM, it was 64 percent.

Rainfall in Different Areas of Delhi
According to the weather department, Delhi's main weather station at Safdarjung recorded 0.3 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours till 8:30 AM. The highest rainfall was recorded in Najafgarh at 15.5 mm. SPS Mayur Vihar received 1.5 mm, Narela 0.5 mm, Palam 0.4 mm, and both Ridge and Aya Nagar recorded 0.2 mm of rainfall.
On Wednesday, between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM, Najafgarh received 3.5 mm of rain, Palam 1 mm, and both Narela and SPS Mayur Vihar recorded 0.5 mm of rain.
