Environment Ireland will return to Dublin in September, bringing together policymakers, regulators and researchers to discuss climate action, biodiversity, circular economy policies and environmental governance.

Environment Ireland Conference Returns Amid Climate And Biodiversity Challenges

The Environment Ireland conference is scheduled to be held in Dublin on September 3rd, with climate policy, biodiversity, water resources, environmental regulation, and circular economy issues set to be discussed.

Held at Croke Park, the conference promises to draw government department officials, regulators, academic researchers, and business people involved in environmental policy and sustainability.

Organizers say that topics on the conference program will include climate change, biodiversity conservation, environmental health, planning policy, ESG reporting, water quality and management, and updates on environmental regulation.

Planned speakers include European Commissioner for Environment Jessika Roswall, Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment Timmy Dooley, Environmental Protection Agency Director General Eimear Cotter, and delegates from the European Environment Agency, World Resources Institute, and Climate Change Advisory Council.

This year’s conference is taking place against the backdrop of Ireland working towards its national climate and environmental objectives. Recent debates have revolved around measures to reduce emissions, improve water quality, protect biodiversity, and increase the efficiency of resources across industries.

Environmental regulation has gained significant momentum as a result of growing expectations regarding reporting and sustainability practices in various parts of Europe. Climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and circular economy practices are also becoming increasingly important areas for policymakers.

Environment Ireland has been running annually for more than two decades now. This conference provides a platform for discussion of matters related to environmental policy, regulation, and their enforcement in Ireland.

The organizers stated that this year’s conference was expected to attract over 300 participants. It will be a mixture of keynote speeches and roundtables on contemporary environmental issues and policies.

The event will take place during a period in which governments in Europe are implementing climate, biodiversity, and environmental programs.
