Hyundai Opens Adhikaar Kendra To Aid Gurugram Citizens
Hyundai Motor India Foundation launches Adhikaar Kendra in Gurugram to unlock welfare benefits worth ₹200 crore.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has launched a major social empowerment initiative in Gurugram with the inauguration of the Adhikaar Connect Kendra under the broader umbrella of Project Adhikaar. This milestone marks a significant step in Hyundai’s ongoing efforts to promote social inclusion by bridging the gap between citizens and public welfare entitlements, particularly for the underserved communities.
The newly established Adhikaar Connect Kendra in Gurugram is designed to serve as a one-stop center where citizens can access their rightful benefits under various central and state-run welfare schemes. Over the next three years, the Kendra is projected to unlock social security benefits worth ₹200 crore for the people of Gurugram. Through a comprehensive suite of services including eligibility screening, documentation assistance, application facilitation, and entitlement tracking, the center will offer personalized guidance to ensure that no eligible citizen is left behind.
In an effort to maximize community reach and impact, HMIF has onboarded around 200 Adhikaar Sakhis—trained female community entrepreneurs—and several male volunteers who will work at the grassroots level to support citizens. These field agents will play a crucial role in identifying beneficiaries, helping them understand their entitlements, and assisting with the end-to-end application process.
The Adhikaar Connect Kendra is envisioned as more than just an administrative hub. It will also function as a center for digital empowerment and community development. Services such as financial literacy workshops, skilling programs, and digital access tools will be made available to citizens, thereby supporting their journey toward self-reliance and long-term empowerment. Each beneficiary will also be issued a Yojana Card, a dignified digital identity enabling real-time access to welfare benefits and maintaining a secure record of entitlements availed.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head - Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communication & Social at Hyundai Motor India Limited, emphasized the long-term vision behind the initiative. “The inauguration of Adhikaar Connect Kendra in Gurugram marks a pivotal step in our journey towards building a more equitable and empowered society. Through this initiative, we aim to bring dignity, simplicity, and transparency to every citizen’s interaction with government welfare schemes, unlocking rightful benefits worth over ₹200 crore over the next three years. This effort goes beyond access; it is about enabling self-reliance and long-term empowerment. We believe when individuals are informed, supported, and digitally included, they are better equipped to shape their own futures, and this is the transformation we are committed to driving through Project Adhikaar.”
By 2028, the initiative aims to positively transform over 90,000 lives, reflecting Hyundai’s strong commitment to social progress and inclusive development. The project’s community-centric approach, combining both technological innovation and human touch, is designed to overcome traditional barriers such as lack of awareness, access issues, and complex bureaucratic procedures that have often excluded the most vulnerable from availing their rightful entitlements.
Shri Ajay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, who was also present at the inauguration, lauded the initiative for its potential to usher in a new era of inclusive governance. “Today marks a significant step towards inclusive governance and social empowerment in Gurugram. With the launch of the Adhikaar Connect Kendra, there is now a robust mechanism to bridge the gap between the people and the public welfare schemes meant to uplift them. Far too often, awareness and access have been barriers for the deserving and this initiative changes that, ensuring no eligible citizen misses out on their rightful benefits. I commend the vision of Hyundai Motor India Foundation to support this initiative that will have a huge impact on the lives of people, and I urge every resident to take full advantage of the services available to them,” he said.
The project is being implemented on the ground through Haqdarshak Empowerment Solutions Private Limited, HMIF’s trusted implementation partner. Haqdarshak has extensive experience in last-mile welfare delivery using a blend of digital tools and assisted models. Their involvement ensures a structured and scalable approach to beneficiary identification, onboarding of Adhikaar Sakhis, and end-to-end handholding of citizens through the welfare application journey.
The launch of the Adhikaar Connect Kendra symbolizes a promising new chapter in citizen-first service delivery, where intent, inclusion, and innovation converge. As the centre begins operations, it stands as a beacon of accessible governance and social justice for the residents of Gurugram.
