Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds brought relief from intense heat across Delhi-NCR, with more showers likely in the coming days.
Delhi NCR residents got respite from the scorching heat of summer because of rain, lightning, and strong winds at different areas of the city. The climatic change occurred in cities like Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Greater Noida.
According to the India Meteorological Department, there have been thunderstorms along with rain showers, as well as strong winds in many parts of Delhi NCR today. Warnings have been issued by the weather experts regarding the threat of lightning, strong winds, and traffic disturbance in Delhi and its nearby regions.
The spell of rainfall has arrived after many days of extreme heat and humidity. The sky was completely clouded up all through the area. The windy showers that were experienced resulted in lower temperatures. Many people embraced the change, and it brought much-needed relief following the tough weather witnessed over the previous weeks.
According to the IMD, there may be rains and thunderstorms in parts of Delhi-NCR over the next few days. Clouds are supposed to form and produce rainfall along with lightning. Winds will be blowing at around 40-60 kmph during lightning storms.
Weather experts said that there is a reason for the rains that are coming down now. The recent rainfall is linked to changing atmospheric conditions in the northwestern part of India. There are reports of this pattern of weather in other areas of India. Warnings have been issued by the IMD for thunderstorms and strong winds.
Although the rain that occurred recently has provided relief from the scorching heat, the authorities say that this respite is not going to last long. As per the forecast, the maximum temperature will reach up to 40°C on June 8, and then it will increase to approximately 41°C from June 9 to June 11.
