NSRCEL and PRIF Complete Third Cohort Focused on Sustainability Startups

NSRCEL, the startup incubator at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, in partnership with Pernod Ricard India Foundation, has concluded the third cohort of its Circular Economy Incubation Program.

The programme supported 10 startups working in areas such as climate-smart agriculture, plastic circularity, and glass recycling. It provided mentoring, industry linkages, grant funding, and strategic guidance aimed at helping early-stage ventures move from pilot stages to initial revenue generation. A total of ₹95 lakh in grants was disbursed to the cohort in phases.

Some startups in the cohort reported external milestones during the programme. Hydroplas received support under the Government of India’s TIDE 2.0 scheme. Reneonix raised ₹1.7 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures. Billion Carbon received recognition in innovation challenges conducted by Zydus and Zomato. Inventive Scientific Minds was listed among startups to watch by Forbes India.

The programme is part of an ongoing collaboration between NSRCEL and the foundation, now in its third year, focusing on supporting ventures working on circular economy solutions.

Anand Sri Ganesh, Managing Director, NSRCEL, said, “This collaboration with the Pernod Ricard India Foundation has enabled us to witness an unprecedented alignment of sustainability and innovation in scaling up businesses. The achievements made by Cohort 3 are a testimony to the tenacity and creativity of the founders, along with the necessity of proper mentoring to convert concepts of circular economy into viable businesses.”

Anantika Singh, Senior Director – CSR, Pernod Ricard India, stated, “At Pernod Ricard India Foundation, we feel that sustainability of the future hinges on fostering innovations that have an impact and scale. In our association with NSRCEL, we are delighted to empower the innovative individuals who have developed solutions that help solve the environmental challenges of today in a circular manner. The achievements of this batch reflect our determination to build the ecosystem of circular economy in India.”

This program is part of a wider range of programs aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs developing innovations in the area of resource utilization and management. The success of the program will ultimately be determined by its scalability and viability.
