Outlook Sustainable Power Conclave 2025: India's Energy Independence Roadmap till 2047

The Outlook Sustainable Power Conclave 2025 was held on 11th March 2025 at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre, New Delhi. The conclave was graced by policymakers, industry captains, and other stakeholders, as well as experts, who all gathered at the conclave in order to discuss sustainable energy options as well as best practices. The Outlook Group with the collaboration of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, conducted the conference that was committed to visualizing the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) and achieving energy independence of India by 2047 as per the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of a self-reliant nation.

Guest of the conference was Manohar Lal, Union Housing & Urban Affairs and Power Minister. He laid stress on the need of power procurement to make the nation energy independent. The conclave discussed action to make India a global power in green production, transmission, governance, and overall energy system of power based on clean technology, production, and system adoption at the middle level to a Net-Zero and developed country.

The industry players such as Atlanta Electricals Ltd represented the conclave, which also gave a boost to the conclave. Atlanta Electricals CMD Niral Patel partnered with the Outlook Group in placing at center stage the issue of good practice in energy. Associate sponsors included Anvil Energy Pvt Ltd, NHPC Ltd, NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, and REC Ltd.

The conclave experienced insightful discussions of the "Just Transition of Energy for an Equitable Society" and discussion over India's targets of renewable energy. Siddharth Sharma, CEO of Tata Trusts, discussed India's ambition of going net-zero in 2070, and power minister emphasized using cleaner and more reliable energy. The government promise of sustainability was also made available as initiatives such as the SECURE model, which attempted to provide sustainable, economically viable, clean, continuous, and guaranteed power to all.

Negotiations also broached the subject of emerging power transmission technology like smart grids and top-tier transformer technology as a step to make the country's renewable energy drive a reality. The contribution of the private sector towards cooperating with the government in establishing a more balanced and sustainable nation was also in focus, with calls for the country to be lowered from imported solar technology and boosting the production level of the country.

Apart from panel sessions, the conference also covered the need for smart meters in controlling the delivery of power and in allowing level prices of electricity. Experts grouped ways in which AI was going to enhance energy efficiency, specifically solar, wind, and hydroelectric power generation, through optimized production and utilization. AI-powered systems would also spur technologies like wireless power transmission and open-sourcing energy infrastructure.

The conclave concluded on the vow from all sides to accelerate on climate change through clean energy way of life and improved development of partnerships for cleaner, greener energy in the future.
